How You Can Help:

All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people. You can help the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year, like floods and tornadoes, by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disaster. The American Red Cross honors donor intent. If you wish to designate your donation to a specific disaster please do so at the time of your donation. Call 1-800-REDCROSS or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish). Contributions to the Disaster Relief Fund may be sent to your local American Red Cross chapter or to the American Red Cross, P. O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013. Internet users can make a secure online contribution by visiting www.redcross.org

For volunteer opportunities, contact your local chapter.

Just wondering what I can do to help. I live in Indianapolis, I’m 37, female, have a BA in psychology, and have worked as a crisis counselor in the past. I don’t have money to donate, but I certainly am willing to get in there and do what I can. I would have to have my parents watch my kids for me and thet live in Columbus, Indiana. It would probably be easiest to have me go from there. Please contact me. I check my e-mail often. Also, my phone is (317)908-9289. Thank you for all you’re doing!

    Hi Amy –
    Thanks for your offer.

We always recommed you start by contacting your local chapter for volunteer opportunities on the ground.

Good luck and let us know if you become a Red Cross Volunteer!

  3. I am native to Burlington Iowa, one of the areas impacted hard by the flooding. I belong to an organization that would love to help out with donations of items or monetary amounts providing our efforts benefit that exact area… Please let me know what options we have so I can begin organizing here in Fort Hood. Thank you!!!!

The City of West Palm Beach would like to adopt a City approximately the size of our employee population (1700) for promoting our employees to donate money to assist with the cleanup efforts. We believe this might be a good way to get city governments involved in sending money. If you could provide the name of a city with approximately the same number of city employees (police, fire and general) and a contact there I would appreciate it.

We want to raise money for the flood victims.

Take care and God Bless you for the work you do!
